Delete Instagram Data
What Instagram data BigCreator stores
When you connect your Instagram account to BigCreator, we cache the following so we can generate analytics without re-fetching from Meta on every page load:
- Profile info: your @handle, account type, follower count, post count, profile picture URL
- Recent posts (up to 50 reels): caption, thumbnail URL, posted date, reach, views, saves, shares, average watch time
- Audio transcripts: Whisper-generated text of your top 50 reels (used to identify topic patterns)
- Account snapshots: daily account-level metrics (reach, profile views, accounts engaged, website clicks, follower count)
- Audience demographics: age, gender, and country breakdowns of your followers
- Long-lived access token: encrypted, used only to fetch the above from Meta on a daily sync
We never post on your behalf, comment, or DM. We never request follower lists or contact information for anyone other than you.
How to delete your Instagram data
You have three options, each takes under a minute:
Revoke access from Instagram (fastest, no login needed)
Open Instagram → Settings and privacy → Apps and websites → Active apps. Tap BigCreator → Remove. Instagram will notify us automatically, and we'll permanently delete your cached data within 24 hours. You'll get a confirmation page when done.
Disconnect from your BigCreator dashboard
If you're logged into BigCreator, go to your dashboard, scroll to the Instagram card, and click Disconnect. We'll wipe your data on the spot.
Email us
If you've lost access to both your Instagram and BigCreator accounts, email bigcreatorai@gmail.com from any address with the subject 'Delete Instagram data' and include your Instagram handle. We'll verify ownership and process within 30 days.
What deletion does and doesn't cover
Deleted permanently: all cached Instagram posts, transcripts, account snapshots, audience demographics, and the encrypted access token.
Kept: a tombstone row recording when you connected and when you revoked (no data, just timestamps) — required for our audit + consent trail under data-protection law. Your BigCreator account, scripts, and any non-Instagram data are not affected.
